Mobile data collection
Mobile data capture (MDC) is a Sage 100 module for automating warehouse management. Netstyle's MDE handheld technology is primarily used in Sage 100 for incoming goods inspection, delivery and warehouse management. The devices include a barcode scanner, an input keyboard and a large display. They support the productive and controlled handling of work processes in the company.
Everything is automated, from the ordering process to posting to the ERP
All delivery data for materials or purchased parts, such as article and quantity, is already integrated during the ordering process. When goods are received, the order can be displayed directly on the handheld device on the spot. The warehouse clerk directly checks the correctness of the delivered items and the correct quantity. Article, order and supplier numbers are already stored in the system. Warehouse staff then enter the delivered and checked items directly into the ERP system's merchandise management system using the MDE device. The handhelds and PC workstations transfer the recorded data to the Office Line in real time via Wi-Fi.

The need for retroactive, time-consuming, and error-prone entry of paper-based documents is completely eliminated. Thanks to optimized monitoring, the system can respond immediately—without any delay—to discrepancies in deliveries or incorrect shipments. As a result, the use of MDE handhelds in conjunction with Sage Office Line has significantly improved and streamlined the goods receipt and inspection process in a very short time.

Transparent processes in the warehouse
Once the delivered items have been confirmed and booked into the Office Line, they can be taken directly from the incoming goods warehouse (quality warehouse) to their storage locations. The storage locations are displayed to the warehouse clerk on the MDE handhelds in real time at the touch of a button. Once the goods have been deposited at the storage location, the employee scans the barcode stored there. This assigns the bin location to the item, which is then synchronized in Sage Office Line.
Alternatively, the article can be posted directly to the main storage bin without intermediate storage in the quality warehouse. This depends on the respective internal processes.
Improving these workflows saves time and costs. Sources of error caused by media disruptions can be largely eliminated and response times shortened. These factors significantly improve delivery quality. The warehouse organization is standardized throughout.
Shortening the inventory
With the MDE devices and the Sage Office Line, not only our daily routine can be optimized, but also the inventory at the end of the year. The extensive count lists are created in Sage Office Line and transferred to the PDC device. This enables warehouse staff to carry out stocktaking very quickly and efficiently.
